The bridge here was built to convey the London & South Western Railway across the creek which led to the terminus at Padstow. I always think of those who boarded the Atlantic Coast Express at Waterloo. For those who travelled to the West Country by rail down what is now the Camel Trail. What were their thoughts when they saw the stunning scenery that the Camel Estuary had to offer having left the smoke of London. We can only imagine. I suspect like me they never wanted to leave Cornwall to go home.
