Not many people realise that Hampshire also has its own Highlands. Towards the North of the County a ridge of hills are aligned from East to West. In Hampshire the high point is Pilot Hill at 286 metres. The hills continue over into Berkshire where the summit of Walbury Hill is reached at 297 metres. This view is towards Beacon Hill which is located next to the A34 road to the North. You often see people climbing up the steep side of Beacon Hill to be rewarded with the stunning views across Hampshire and Berkshire. Well worth the effort.
